Happiness is not made by what we own. It is made by what we share. Sharing creativity is the essence of The Wellesley Society of Artists.
That’s why this year The Wellesley Celebrations Committee, a standing committee of the Select Board, Town of Wellesley honors, The Wellesley Society of Artists, Inc. (WSA) with a Special Recognition Award.
Founded in 1933 the WSA supports and encourages local artists, while promoting the fine arts in Wellesley, MA, and surrounding communities.
Today, the WSA, Inc. is incorporated as a non-profit tax-exempt 501 (C)(3) organization with over 100 members from Wellesley, the metro Boston area as well as Cape Cod and the Islands and beyond.
Its mission is to nurture the fine arts in the community through member juried exhibitions, artist demonstrations, educational programs, and online resources.
The WSA gives members opportunities to exhibit their work, provides a supportive environment to stimulate personal creativity, and encourages the sharing of ideas, knowledge, and skills. The WSA believes that art education can and should be a lifetime endeavor that helps to promote joy, express feelings, and adds meaning to lives.
In that spirit, the WSA’s educational programs are free and open to the public.
The art, music, words, and ideas, we create are immortal. Generation after generation appreciates what we do now and what we did.
On behalf of The Wellesley Celebrations Committee, we extend our heartfelt thanks for your stalwart support of our town and for your active participation in this year’s Wellesley Wonderful Weekend.
