Community Fund for Wellesley

The mission of the Community Fund for Wellesley is to promote the common good and to benefit all residents of our town. The Community Fund for Wellesley serves as a permanent source of funding to foster innovation and collaboration in support of community needs and opportunities.

The Community Fund for Wellesley was established in 2008 in celebration of Wellesley’s 125th birthday. A dedicated group of town residents had a vision to create a fund that would exist to benefit members of the Wellesley community for generations to come. Over the past 15 years, we have made grants of over $700,000 to more than 48 local non-profits and Wellesley town departments.

Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club

The Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club is a group of women who work side by side to make a meaningful difference in the Wellesley and MetroWest community.

WHJWC raises money and gives time to help those in need. The club creates dynamic fundraising events that celebrate community and tap into the generosity of those around us. The club volunteers with organizations that are making a real difference. And the work that they do helps address some of the biggest challenges facing our society: mental health, hunger, access to education, bullying, poverty, domestic violence.

The Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club organizes three annual major fundraisers:

— Wellesley Marketplace — brings over 200 vendors and artisans together for the premier holiday shopping experience of the season.

— Wellesley Kitchen and Home Tour — showcases homes in Wellesley and spotlights design and construction companies in and around the Greater Boston area.

— WonderRun 5K and Kids Fun Run — celebrates health and wellness for all ages.

Community Service:
Through its service projects, the WHJWC spends time helping children with special needs, young female scholars, families in crisis and the elderly and they teach kindergarteners about tolerance and acceptance. As women, the club knows that the power of the connections they make can be life-changing.  Programs are Family Promise Metrowest, A Better Chance (ABC), Juniors Care, Seniors, and Kids on the Block.

Community Impact:
The Club knows that even in a community that is thriving, not everyone’s basic needs are being met. They work together to fill those gaps by providing needed volunteer support, funding, scholarships and donated items. In a world where problems are complex and the news is often bad, WHJWC makes a measurable difference where they can — right here at home.

The Village Bank

With a proud history spanning more than a century, The Village Bank is now the only remaining mutual community bank headquartered in the City of Newton.

The Village Bank measures success by the meaningful relationships we have established through the years as a result of our strong commitment to our customers and our communities, which include Wayland, Waltham and Wellesley.

The Village Bank donates more than $1 million annually in support of initiatives that enhance the quality of life in the neighborhoods we serve. Our new Wellesley branch, which will include a retail pop-up space in partnership with UpNext, opens this summer. We are happy to support the Wellesley Wonderful Weekend.
