Community Foundation for MetroWest/Community Fund for Wellesley

The mission of the Community Fund for Wellesley is to promote the common good and to benefit all residents of our town. The Community Fund for Wellesley serves as a permanent source of funding to foster innovation and collaboration in support of community needs and opportunities.

The Community Fund for Wellesley was established in 2008 in celebration of Wellesley’s 125th birthday. A dedicated group of town residents had a vision to create a fund that would exist to benefit members of the Wellesley community for generations to come. Over the past 15 years, we have made grants of over $700,000 to more than 48 local non-profits and Wellesley town departments.

The Community Foundation for MetroWest improves the quality of life in 30+ MetroWest communities by providing financial and educational resources to local nonprofit organizations, sharing essential data about our region to inform decision making, and partnering with donors to help guide and align their giving with the areas of greatest need in the community.

Since 1995 we have been identifying areas where the needs are the greatest and implementing initiatives to address these needs. We focus on the outcome, are nimble, and adjust accordingly.

We help donors plan and carry out their charitable giving, whether they already know where they want to give or need assistance identifying local needs.

We partner with others across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, bringing a consistent and knowledgeable voice to critical civic issues.

We manage funds and for both donors and nonprofits, reducing administrative costs while increasing tax advantages.

We provide resources and information to the public to help shine a light on the strengths and challenges that face our communities in MetroWest.

We offer programs for individuals, youth and nonprofits to learn, grow and build skills to better serve our communities.
