Background: Graduated from his ROTC unit at Boston College in 1965 as a 2nd Lt. He graduated from Boston State in 1966, and in January 1967 entered the service at Fort Benning GA. Peter was then sent to Vietnam in October 1967 and was wounded in November at Dak To in the engagement know as Hill 1338. He was awarded the purple heart. On February 15th while in the 3rd Battalion 12th Infantry Peter was awarded the Bronze Star with “V” device for valor in recognition for his heroic conduct and leadership during his unit’s operations against the enemy near Dak To Vietnam.
