Background: Entered into Army on March 19, 1943. Went overseas in April 1944. Went into Utah Beach shortly after D-Day. Was wounded on June 22, 1944, evacuated by plane on June 25th and sent to 182 General Hospital in Darby, England. After five months hospitalization, assigned to 542nd Ordinance, served on continent until end of war. Medals: Combat Infantry Badge, Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Army of Occupation Medal, Good Conduct, American Defense, five Battle Starts. While in 4th Infantry, served in Co. L 8th Infantry., Worked at Dennison Manufacturing Plant, Framingham, MA.
