Catherine Mirick is a 23-year resident of Wellesley, and proud member of the School Committee. Her active commitment and advocacy for the youth in our community has been evident through her volunteerism in PTO leadership, scouts, Town Meeting member, and School Committee.
The Wellesley Celebrations Committee, a standing committee of the Select Board, Town of Wellesley is proud to honor Catherine Mirick with its Community Service Award.
Since her election in 2020, it has been a whirlwind in public education. Post Covid, Catherine worked hand in hand with the Wellesley Board of Health to get students safely back in school.
She served as chair of the Committee last school year and led it through challenging community discussions around bullying, Hunnewell swing space, communications, and academic excellence.
Catherine was instrumental in advocating for the building of new elementary schools at Hardy and Hunnewell.
Catherine Mirick has set high standards for our schools – not just to build knowledge, but to shape character. We thank her for a job well done.
