Community Service Award

All true education insists on high goals for our schools and high expectations for our children. Meeting these goals is the mission for the Wellesley School Committee. That’s why we are so grateful for the commitment of Christina Horner.
Today we are proud to give her a new honor. The Wellesley Celebrations Committee, a standing committee of the Select Board, Town of Wellesley honors Cristiana Horner with its Community Service Award.
Christina is the proud parent of three children, all of whom attended Wellesley Public Schools. Her dedication to young people and families is reflected in her many years of service, including six years as a Girl Scout troop leader and volunteer work with the English as a Second Language program.
A committed civic leader, Christina was elected to the Wellesley School Committee in 2023 as well as Town Meeting. She has been actively involved with World of Wellesley as a former Co-President and current Trustee, advancing its mission of building a more inclusive and connected community. She has also been a member of the League of Women Voters and contributes to the Town’s Civil Discourse Initiative.
Christina’s professional work as an educator, consultant, and coach has focused on diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and access. Her leadership and impact have been recognized with honors from the Massachusetts Association of School Committees and the Black and Latino Legislative Caucus.
Thank you, our schools, our kids and our town are proud of what you’ve done.
