Every town and county in America has its heroes and heritage, and today we have our own Gerald W. Kelley

Today we are proud to give him a well-deserved honor. The Wellesley Celebrations Committee, a standing committee of the Select Board, Town of Wellesley honors Gerald W. Kelley to be Chief of Staff for the 2026 Veterans Parade

As a town, we must keep faith with the veterans who gave honorable service

to our country. Here’s Gerald’s story:

He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant with 34 years, 6 months and 3 days total military service with USAF and MA Air National Guard.  His two major deployments were one for four months at Warner Robins AFB GA (during Balkans Conflict) and the other for two years, a week after 9/ 11 at Langley AFB southern VA.  It was this unit that was responsible for the activation of all Personnel and Equipment for the Global War on Terror, Afghanistan and Iran.

Thank you, Gerald W. Kelley.  It’s important to pass your story of American courage and character to the next generation.
